Samsung Galaxy Glasses might look like this

Samsung is expected to launch its first smart glasses later this year. Earlier reports have suggested that they may be launched as the Galaxy Glasses.

A new leak today gives us a sense of what the Galaxy Glasses might look like.

Samsung's first smart glasses are due this year

The images, first shared on AndroidHeadlines and based on “real life pictures of a testing stage unit”, showcase a fairly normal looking frame that's not too different from the Meta Ray-Ban glasses.

There are reports that Samsung is working on multiple smart glasses, including one with an in-lens display, though that may not arrive before 2027.

The report mentions that these smart glasses have the codename “Jinju.” They don't feature a display, so they're not too dissimilar to the Ray-Ban Metas. It's also claimed, as other reports have also highlighted, that Samsung has a second pair of smart glasses codenamed “Haean.” This variant may have a micro-LED display.

These smart glasses will run on the Android XR platform. Gemini will be built-in, enabling users to ask the AI assistant various things as they go about their day, including directions for Google Maps, weather, sports scores, and more.

The full specs aren't available as yet, but it's believed that these smart glasses will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 chipset. They may have a 12-megapixel Sony IMX681 camera, a 155mAh battery, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, bone-conduction speakers, and more packaged in a body that weighs about 50g.

There's no news as yet on when these smart glasses will be launched, though the upcoming Unpacked event in July where the new foldable phones will be launched seems like a possibility. Samsung may price its first smart glasses between $379 and $499.
